BABS RUBENSTEIN

Director

Babs is the education director of Syracuse Children’s Theatre. She holds a BFA in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory.

Babs has worked at regional theaters such as The Goodspeed Opera House, Seacoast Repertory Theater, New London Barn Playhouse, and the Hanna Theater in Cincinnati. She has done many NYC workshops and readings of new musicals and has traveled the country with Broadway’s 1st National Tour of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT.

Babs also has a private voice studio and has taught at The Conservatory at Hillbarn Theater in Foster City, CA.


MARISA GUZMÁN-COLEGROVE

Choreographer

Marisa has taught dance at Guzmán’s Dance Studio, Syracuse School of Dance, and as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University. She has worked on and performed in several productions with the Syracuse Symphony, Syracuse Opera Company, and FM High School. Recently Marisa choreographed Catch Me If You Can, School of Rock, Into the Woods, Guys & Dolls, Legally Blonde, Bye, Bye, Birdie, and The Little Mermaid with the Town of Manlius Recreation Department and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Spongebob: The Musical, Newsies, Cinderella, Phantom of the Opera, Titanic, Beauty & the Beast, and Shrek, at FM. Last fall Marisa joined OFC Creations Theatre Center in Rochester, NY as the Associate Choreographer for one of her favorite musicals, West Side Story. In 2019, Marisa received a Syracuse Area Live Theatre (SALT) Award for her choreography of The Addams Family at CNY Playhouse. She enjoys dancing with “Alegre Flamenco,” the only Flamenco troupe in the CNY area.


Music Director

AIMEE deBERJEOIS

Aimee is in her 26th year of teaching music and directing in the ESM Central School District. Over the years, she has directed, produced, vocal coached, and choreographed numerous plays, talent shows, and musicals. She is also the music director at University United Methodist Church. A graduate of the Ithaca College School of Music, Aimee continues her professional development through active membership in NYSSMA, ACDA, NYSTEA, and TANYS. She received TANYS’ highest honor for Outstanding Production and Direction for Singin’ in the Rain (2024), and Excellence in Production and Direction for Disney’s High School Musical (2023) and The Addams Family (2022). Her work with ACDA has allowed her to observe, work with, and sing for composers and conductors such as Francisco Nunez, Dr. Kevin Fenton, and Dr. Rollo Dilworth. Theatre has been a lifelong passion since her first musical, Annie, in 1987. Aimee also taught vocals and acting at the BDC Summer Theater Camps.

Joe DiPietro has won two Tony Awards, a Drama Desk Award and 2 Outer Critics Circle Awards. Broadway: Nice Work If You Can Get It (Tony noms – Best Book, Best Musical), Memphis (Tony winner – Best Book, Best Score, Best Musical.) All Shook Up, Living on Love. Off-Broadway: Clever Little Lies, The Toxic Avenger, The Thing About Men, Over the River and Through the Woods, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. His most recent play, “Hollywood,” recently debuted at LaJolla Playhouse. Other recent regional credits include: The Second Mrs. Wilson (Long Wharf Theatre & George Street Playhouse) Chasing the Song (La Jolla Playhouse,) Ernest Shackleton Loves Me (Arts Emerson,) The Last Romance (Old Globe,) Creating Claire (George Street Playhouse.) He sits on the board of Only Make Believe, a charity dedicated to bringing interactive, therapeutic theatre to chronically ill children.
